Devlog: Polish 1

The polish week is here! This means we won’t add new mechanics anymore and finalize the aspects we have in game.
Enemy
Like you can see, there is a path for the enemies to run this time! During the week these path is adjusted and fixed so the enemies run in a better way, without running through objects! We also made it possible for the wave manager to spawn all kinds of available enemies! In the next week we will change every kind of enemy their HP and speed!
Sounds
Our first sounds are implemented in the main menu. There are hover and button sounds but also our first soundtrack is made and implemented in the game! It gives the quiet before the storm feeling. In the second week of our polish we are going to make some main game, boss and endgame music. These will be giving a wilder feeling, because the war is started.
UI
We converted the font so we could implement this on every button and title!
Also the settings menu is finally here! From now on you can adjust the sounds with a slider and can you adjust the resolution so this game can be played on different resolution screens. The end screen is also done. The leaderboard is slightly changed and we implemented some art.
Feedback changes/Minor bugfixes
Both programmer started to clean up and fix some minor bugfixes so the game will run more smooth next time!
The main character can now attack at any time, but watch out! You will lose mana if you use this ability! So don’t use it when there are no enemies.
Also the radial menu is finalized! Now there is an “after upgraded to the last turret” menu. You can’t upgrade further but you can still use the sell, refill hp and close option! Also due to feedback we changed the way of selecting the options in the radial menu. Now you just have to stand on the item you want and release the left joystick to confirm you want this option.
The cloudmanager (shader) is also fixed. They are changed in the gamescene and float now above the island with different looks!
Tutorial
We started to discuss how the tutorial will look like and we decided to use gifs with a panel where we explain the tactics and buttons of the game. Ofcourse we will do everything to use as less text as possible!
- Artists -
This week was refining the map and couple assets in the game.
We fixed the z_fighting trees and his glassy texture and the clouds. The animation got a little refining to.
The path is finally present in the game.
Currently we are working on the lighting, sound effects and music and the tutorials for in the game.
The updated map with the path. We added smaller islands around the map and we added more vegetation.
For the lighting so far we've fixed the harsh shadows as well as added effects like fog, bloom, depth of field and colour balancing.
The shader for our Floating Clouds has been fixed to be transparent.
The fire particles have gotten an upgrade, there's now also sparks and smoke coming out of the turret
