Devlog: Polish 2 Final Devlog !
What's up Heaven Siege Players !
Welcome to our final devlog of our project.
The final week is a fact ! And we are very happen with what our game has become. So what did we do in our final week ?
-Programmers-
UI
We added an info popup window next to the turrets so the player knows every stat it exactly has and what the cost is. We also finished the pause screen and the start screen.
For the in-game menu bar we added the amount of gems icon on the top left and the score of the player on the top right.
Sound
This week we occupied most of our time with putting music and sound effects into the game. We added music for all separate menus. Also in-game music has been made, composed by Karina herself! Also a lot of sound effects were implemented to give the player more feedback like: walking sounds, pickup sounds, attacking sounds. The same goes for all Enemies and Turrets, everything is a part of the game's soundscape!
To play the sound effects we also added a sound manager. The sound manager makes it easy to add and play sounds throughout the game.
Radial Menu
After a lot of testing we decided to make the radial menu confirmation "On Release" instead of a button. We changed it because our game is meant to be high pace. So "On Release" maintains this pace and the player can place towers with swift and ease. And as I already mentioned the radial menu displays a small menu with the turret's stats now !
Waves
Now all the enemies can get spawned by the wave manager. Also the cooldown timer has been added to the game. So after every wave a timer starts, if the player starts the wave early he gets a reward !
Tutorial
A in-game tutorial has also been made. This tutorial shows all the main inputs of the game. So the player knows what to do when starting the game!
Bugfixes
And Last but not least a lot of bugs have been fixed in the game. Some major bugs like some unexpected crashes and music not playing when it needs to be queued. And minor bugs like some text not being displayed at the beginning of the game.

In the last polish week we focused on finishing the map and the last details in the game.
like the UI, art for the tutorials and the sound effects.
We worked on the lighting and the shadows in the game, the map got a little update as well. We added flower assets and fixed the map. For the lighting we wanted to create a dreamy effect.
We polished the particles by adding sub-emitters with extra cool effects, like smoke or sparks.
Some other particles got updated as well:
Turret destroy
Better wind particle
Ice projectile impact
Gem pickup
Ice projectile trail
Melee hit
Finally we got the chance to update our logo.
